Update - South Hayling Beach Management
After 10 days of work on site, a survey of the beach at Eastoke has calculated the need for additional shingle material to reach our design profile and therefore provide the recommended standard of protection to properties. To access this material, Havant Borough Council will be working in partnership with Hayling Golf Club to extract beach shingle from Gunner Point.
In order to carry out the movement of shingle from this location safely, we will be temporarily closing the car park at West Beach from Wednesday 17th February 2021. Our haul route for these works requires access through the car park and therefore this area will be closed Monday-Friday. We aim to re-open the car park at weekends whenever safe to do so.
It is estimated that these works will take 10 days to complete, depending on the weather conditions throughout.
