10 Gun Battery, Scheduled Monument Repairs

Coastal Partners are working with contractor Suttle Projects on behalf of Portsmouth City Council to carry out blockwork repairs to the 10 Gun Battery Scheduled Monument.

Repairs will provide realignment of blockwork, repointing of mortar and grouting of voids along 10 Gun Battery Seawall in Old Portsmouth. All repair methods have been agreed with Historic England and will involve moving blockwork to be flush with the wall front, repointing the blockwork with either a deep or shallow repoint as required and grouting behind the blockwork where voids are present.

The works are scheduled to commence Monday 12th October and will be completed by Friday 6th November. During this time, you will see contractors on scaffolding, using hand tools and equipment which will conform to all appropriate Health and Safety measures required.
