This scheme covers approximately 150m of coastal frontage and is located at the western end of Stoke Lake.
Good progress is being made on the Alverstoke Coastal Defence Scheme, which was approved for detailed design and construction phases in 2016. Since then the scheme has moved through the outline and detailed design phases, with a finalised design now in place.
The proposed design is a new reinforced concrete wall and associated flood equipment to be located at the western end of Stoke Lake where there will also be the installation of a set of flood gates across Little Anglesey Road.
Gosport Borough Council and Coastal Partners will now appoint a construction contractor and obtain the necessary licensing and consents for the scheme. Construction is planned to commence in early 2021.
