Alverbank West Make Safe Works - May 2026

Works are being undertaken to return the promenade and car park at Alverbank for public use after damage which occurred during the winter period.

The void will be filled and a new promenade slab will be cast, beach material will be placed under the promenade at the western end of the car park. Also as part of the works the damaged groyne by the double height promenade will be removed from the beach.

The current footpath closures and routes will continue during the works, with some additional signage/ diversion for the beach-based working. The current diversions will be removed at the completion of the works on site.

Contractors Avon Construction are due to start on site from 11th May 2026 and due to complete by the end of the month.

  • Be aware that machinery will be on site and to follow the signage.
  • Diversions will be in place and signposted.
  • Promenade and car park to re-open when works are complete.
