Hayling Beach Management - December 2022 Update
Following the storm event which affected Hayling Island on 24th November 2022, the beach levels have decreased below the 1:200 year Standard of Protection. To restore the beach profile again, we will be undertaking emergency beach recycling works; extracting shingle from Hayling Golf Club land at Gunner Point, and placing the material along the residential frontage at Eastoke.
We expect these works to last for a period of up to 10 days on site. Working is permitted Monday to Friday; 6am to 10pm. The Contractor will work a 10 hour day during these hours, most likely between 7am and 5pm.
Cones and signs will be located along the haul route along the length of the beach to demarcate the area in which the works will take place. To ensure the works are undertaken safely, a section of the car park will be closed adjacent to Inn on the Beach, and the West Beach car park will remain closed for safety for the duration of these work on site. Please take care of the machinery if you are accessing the beach during the working times.
We thank you for your understanding while these emergency works are carried out.
