Langstone Mill Pond to Wade Lane Seawall Repairs
Maintenance works will be carried out to the existing Mill Pond Seawall from August 2025 on behalf of Havant Borough Council. These scheduled works will prevent failure of the structure and improve the integrity of the current sea wall.
The works involve repairing and rebuilding the damaged section of masonry sea wall with new brickwork. Majority of the construction works will be undertaken on both Wade Lane Footpath and from the foreshore. We anticipate the extent of footpath and foreshore will remain closed to the public during these works. Warning signs will be installed at key access locations to the foreshore and footpath. An alternative pedestrian route will be shown on the diversion map which will be displayed at various locations.
A compound for the works being undertaken by Avon Construction Ltd will be set up on Langstone High Street.
Construction works are expected to begin in August 2025 and completed by October 2025. Working hours will be between 7am – 7pm, with most of the work occurring around the low tide. Occasionally, there may be a need to work outside of these hours.
In addition, Hampshire County Council (HCC) will be undertaking the installation of a new boardwalk across the failed section of the seawall. HCC will provide further details on timescales when they have them.
