Seafield Seawall Repairs March 2026

Areas of the seawall in Seafield are in need concrete repairs to reduce the risk of failure and to prolong the life of the wall.

The seawall is constructed of undressed stone, with a footpath extending across most of the works area. Over time, tidal action has caused significant deterioration of the concrete and mortar. The structure has also sustained impact damage from debris and vessels.

The majority of the works will be undertaken from the foreshore using hand tools. Where machinery is used, this will be undertaken from the footpath in line with the environmental requirements in this area.

There will be localised footpath closures during the works, which are covered by a temporary traffic regulation order which has been advertised as required. The closures will be only for the section of footpath required to minimise disruption. Diversion routes around the work area will have signage to direct the public.

Works will be carried out by Suttle Projects Ltd and are due to start on site week commencing  9th March 2026 for approximately 2 weeks.
