Why is this happening?
Repair work is required to reduce the risk of further damage to the structure. This primary coastal defence protects historic buildings and recreational land from flooding and erosion. The works are to be funded by Portsmouth City Council.
What happens next?
Norse Commercial Services Ltd. has been appointed by Portsmouth City Council to undertake the repairs, with a start date of Monday 25th February 2019, and works expected to take two weeks to complete.
Works will only take place during daylight hours 7am - 7pm, Monday-Friday.
Access during the works
The promenade will remain open during the works.
