Long Curtain Moat – Blockwork Repair Works

Coastal flood and erosion defence repair works will start along a section of Long Curtain Moat week commencing 13th May 2019. and are expected to take approximately 1-2 weeks for completion.

Where is this happening?

Repairs will take place along the western extent on the seaward facing section of Long Curtain Moat seawall.

Why is this happening?

Repairs are required to reduce the risk of further damage to the structure. This coastal defence asset protects historic buildings/structures and recreational land from flooding and erosion. Maintenance works are funded by Portsmouth City Council.

What happens next?

Suttle Projects have been appointed by the Council to undertake the repairs, with a start date of Monday 13th May 2019., and works expected to take 1-2 weeks to complete. Works will only take place during daylight hours 07:00 - 19:00, Monday-Friday.

Access during the works

The promenade will remain open during the works. Most of the works will be taking place from the foreshore, however materials will be transported along the promenade from the compound, and therefore the width of the promenade will be restricted
