After careers in both aircraft engineering and linguistics, Alex discovered a love for the earth sciences and decided to develop this into a career by embarking on a degree in Physical Geography at the University of Portsmouth, where he channelled his degree subject matter toward coastal geomorphology. After graduating with a First Class Honours in 2016 he started a role as a Flooding and Coastal Risk Officer with the Environment Agency. This involved the coordination and management of the governments Flooding and Coastal Risk Management capital investment program in the Wessex region. In 2016 Alex joined Coastal Partners where he now works in the Research Team. He is currently undertaking several Scoping and Feasibility studies which aim to inform future management practices along our coastline.
