North Portsea Island Phase 4b Update - Week 8

At the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre the scheme is rebuilding a section of the slipway and adding a flood gate at the top of the slipway.

First, we built a wall made of sheet piles (metal sheets that link together to form a wall) around the edge of the slipway; and then added steel reinforcements to strengthen the concrete. Finally, we poured the concrete in sections to form the walls around the slipway.
