South Hayling Urgent Beach Management Works

Notification of works along the South Hayling Frontage

Urgent beach management works will start on the South Hayling frontage week commencing 20th November 2023 and estimated to last for a period of 5 days on site. 

High tides and strong winds from recent storms have impacted the South Hayling coastline. Actions are now being taken to resolve this and help prepare for future stormy weather.

At Eastoke, the shingle beach has absorbed the main force from storms Babet and Ciarán, doing its job in protecting the people and homes in the locality.

Starting on 20th November, our Beach Management Contractor will return to improve the condition of the beach, with an emphasis on Eastoke Corner and Creek Road. We expect these works to be completed by 27th November.

The works will be carried out by Ovenden Earthmoving Co Ltd. Working hours will be between 7am and 7pm on a standard day. Please be aware that there will be machinery working and be vigilant of this when using the beach.
