Seafield Scheme

Following the River Hamble to Portchester Strategy, Seafield was highlighted as one of three priority areas for a flood scheme.

Since the strategy, an outline design has been developed, with the proposed design of a flood wall for the western defences and a revetment for the eastern & northern defences. The defences are designed to protect against a 1 in 100 year until 2060.  - This is a 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP), which means a flood of such magnitude has a 1% chance of occurring in any given year.

March 21 - The next stage for this scheme is to gain feedback on proposed designs from the local community.  Following this, a detailed design will be developed.  It is important to recognise that for construction to occur additional funding is required.  This will be investigated during the detailed design phase.
