This is an exciting new opportunity to join a busy multi-disciplinary coastal and flood engineering team, managing flood and erosion risk on the south coast.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Client and Engineering Service. You will support our asset management team to evolve our strategic approach to asset management, ideally with experience or interest in the following role:
- Project Manager - Asset Management Team - Fixed Term Contract
- Coastal Engineer/Coastal Project Engineer
We look after a significant number of coastal assets to manage flood and erosion risk to our communities. These differ widely in terms of age and condition and include groynes, defence structures, public areas and navigation aids, all with differing maintenance and investment needs.
We are looking for a project manager to evolve our strategic approach to our asset management delivery, to drive consistency and efficiency across our Partner Authorities.
Key responsibilities will include the planning and oversight of data collection in each of our delivery partners, considering inventory and data collection standards and systems to provide us with the evidence to make sound investment decisions and manage asset risk.
The role requires you to perform a project management for capital and revenue projects, delivering through our Framework contractors and consultants. Our contracts are all managed using NEC4, and experience of managing NEC Contracts is desirable. This role also supports our wider Client and Engineering Service and may involve supervision of more junior team members, supporting our asset management annual work and in the delivery of our Beach Management Plans.
This role requires a degree in Civil Engineering, Water and Coastal Management or related discipline. Applications are welcome from experienced candidates, with relevant training provided to support your role. Experience in maintenance or GIS would be advantageous. The initial salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
The role requires frequent outdoor work, site work and attendance at our offices, blended with home working. You will need to be able to drive.
We are a dynamic service with a fresh and optimistic approach to meeting challenges and opportunities and are committed to developing our people through training and support to offer a varied experience.
