You will be our eyes and ears in managing our coastal defence assets and managing our beaches. Where asset defects are identified we need to be able to implement asset maintenance or asset replacement works to maintain the standard of protection which these defences provide to our communities.
A key part of the role will be to deliver asset inspections and surveying work along the coast, with the opportunity to be involved with the latest UAV technology. You will assist the team in the planning and reporting of inspection findings, inputting into maintenance design recommendations and updating asset datasets.
For both maintenance and capital works civils projects, you will provide project management support covering design, procurement and site supervision with due consideration for the environment, health and safety and the local community. Depending on experience, there will be opportunities to lead on these work packages.
You will require an HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction in the Built Environment or related discipline. Experience of surveying, using civil engineering technical standards, an awareness of health and safety guidance and familiarity with computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel, CAD and GIS would be an advantage.
We are a dynamic service with a fresh and optimistic approach to meeting challenges and opportunities and are committed to developing our people through training and support to offer a varied experience.
