Langstone Stakeholder Working Group

The Langstone Stakeholder Working Group (LSWG) meet at key milestones in the development of the design, and will remain in place throughout the project duration.

During the options appraisal phase, the LSWG met on three occasions, at key stages (start-up, short list and leading option).

During the detailed design phase, the Langstone Stakeholder Working Group will meet on 3 occasions:

  • Detailed Design Start-up (April 2021)
  • Detailed Design 50% design milestone (July 2022)
  • Detailed Design 80% design milestone (February 2024)

The aim of the LSWG is to:

“Create a collaborative partnership between key stakeholders in the Langstone area and the project team at Coastal Partners/ Havant Borough Council (HBC) to represent the local community through the Langstone FCERM Scheme.”

Objectives of the LSWG

  • To be the link to the wider Langstone community, acting as a conduit for information between the project and the community.
  • To provide the project team with a wider understanding of local aspirations, issues, promote forward thinking.
  • To provide an understanding of what is viewed in the community as a acceptable scheme.
  • To enable consensus on issues between all organisations through open discussion, collaboration and meaningful engagement.
  • To work together to accomplish a shared goal.

LSWG6 - Detailed Design 80% design milestone (February 2024)

The final (6th) Langstone Stakeholder Working group was held at Langstone Quays Resort on 23rd February 2023, to celebrate and share the 80% designs with key representatives of the community. Further detail, including the slides and meeting minutes are available in the resources on the right of this page. A summary of feedback received is also shown, this was shared with the Designer AECOM for incorporation into the final design proposals.

LSWG5 - Detailed Design 50% design milestone (July 2022)

The LSWG met in person at the Havant Borough Council Public Services Plaza on the 4th July 2022.

The agenda included a presentation by the Project Team and discussion on the following:

  • Cost and Close

LSWG4 - Detailed Design Start-up (April 2021)

The LSWG met virtually at the launch of Detailed Design on the 20th April 2021.

  • Forum on Funding Shortfall
